The children discovered that magnets have two sides: north and south. They observed how opposite sides (north/south) attract or stick to each other and how the same sides (south/south, north/north) are pushing away from each other. They explored magnets by trying to stick the magnet on different surfaces or materials in the classroom. They concluded that magnets only stick on metals and not wood, fabric, plastic, paper, and even their hair!
We ended our magnet investigation by painting using magnets and paper clips which led to another discovery: mixing of colors!
