Life of Service according to the Gospel

December 16

Advent

Heavenly Father,
As we enter this third week of Advent, we rejoice in the coming of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Fill our hearts with joy and gladness,
Even in the midst of life’s struggles and uncertainties.
May the light of Christ’s love shine brightly within us,
Bringing hope, peace, and joy to our homes and to the world.

Help us to remember the words of the angel:
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people."
Open our hearts to receive this good news,
And to share that joy with everyone we meet.

We pray in the name of Jesus, our source of eternal joy.
Amen.

The Third Sunday of Advent - JOY!

The Third Sunday of Advent is known as Gaudete Sunday, and its theme is JOY. The word Gaudete comes from Latin and means "rejoice," reflecting the joy Christians feel as the celebration of Christ's birth draws closer. It invites believers to recognize the joy that comes from knowing Christ is near and to share that joy with others. It reminds Christians that even in the midst of life’s struggles, God’s promises bring hope and lasting joy.

At this halfway point in the season of Advent, light two violet candles and the rose candle on your Advent wreath and Rejoice! For the Lord is near!

The annual Faculty and Staff Christmas Luncheon is this Friday, December 20, beginning at 12:30 p.m. We kindly ask that you make arrangements to ensure your child(ren) is/are picked up before 12:30 p.m. so that all of our teachers and staff can join the festivities on time. Please note that there will be no Extended Care available for any grade levels on this day. Thank you!

A Message from the California Bishops Conference

“The Lord hears the cry of the poor” (Psalm 34:7), and we, the Catholic bishops of California, as shepherds of the flock of Christ, have seen and heard the growing distress among you, our migrant brothers and sisters. We want to assure you that we, and our mother, the Church, stand with you in these days of anxiety. You are not alone...Read more
