Prayer Requests for SJDL Family
Dear Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Community,
We humbly ask for your prayers for a child in our community whose parents are facing severe health challenges. During this difficult time, may they find strength, healing, and comfort in God’s grace. Let us lift them up in prayer, asking for His peace, wisdom for their caregivers, and unwavering faith in His love.
Thank you for keeping them in your hearts and prayers.
Saint Jeanne, pray for us.

The Science of Reading
The science of reading refers to a research-based approach to teaching reading that emphasizes the understanding of how the brain processes written language. It integrates findings from cognitive science, linguistics, and education to support effective instruction in phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, ensuring that all students can become proficient readers.
Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School is committed to providing the best educational foundation for our students. That is why we embrace the Science of Reading, a research-based approach to literacy instruction that ensures children develop strong reading and comprehension skills.
The Science of Reading is built on decades of research in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and education. It emphasizes systematic, explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—key components proven to help all students become confident and skilled readers.
This evidence-based approach aligns with our mission to cultivate academic excellence while fostering a love of learning. By using the Science of Reading, we have consistently outpaced public schools in benchmark assessments for the last five years. Our students not only develop strong literacy skills but also gain the confidence and critical thinking abilities necessary for lifelong success.
Thank you for your partnership in your child’s educational journey.
